Cara ‘ch

bantum rumble breaks away
from crumbly cavern walls

glistering prism-faced bubble
climbs through earthy torso
flooding quiescent cavity

sphere ascends
filling the mouth
with stickywet warmth

gasps as it escapes

perfectly round
apple-shaped sound

  1. ‘glistering prism-faced bubble/climbs through earthy torso/flooding quiescent cavity’. Wow! This is beautiful, the whole poem is. Love it. Quite unique.

  2. Such halcyon ascent here, rising note of pleasure or happiness, the buoyancy of something purely Yes .. I could see that “bantam rumble” as either a happy post-meal belch or that gleaming effervescent bubble of orgasm, lifting like a moon from the sea. What a button in the final stanza. – Brendan
