fingers and thumbs


 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

i like my hand when it is in your
hand; the folded newness of lines
tracing unknown radial borders,
distal pads resting plump in palm,
flexor tendons seeking creases
and the nascent swell beneath
your thumb as you unfasten me.
